      <image:title>Vision</image:title>
<image:caption>Our Mission… Addressing the lack of access to basic healthcare and education in underserved communities. Our history… Anaweza was birthed out of a vision to come alongside rural villagers in southwestern Kenya, to equip and empower them to experience fullness of life through increased educational opportunities and improved physical, spiritual and financial health. The Griggs family, founders of Anaweza, spent over a decade living and working at a children’s home, and with the medical community, in a rural village in southwestern Kenya. Anaweza is formed with the belief that the person and power of Jesus, as well as leadership, ideas, and ingenuity from the local community, are essential for lasting change. Anaweza comes alongside rural villagers in a robust approach—encompassing healthcare, education, and training—to creating more stable communities in one of Kenya’s most vulnerable regions.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Vision - Our Faith…</image:title>
<image:caption>The Apostles’ Creed We believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. The third day, He rose again from the dead. He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *referring to the whole church in all times and places rather than to any specific branch of Christianity.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Anaweza - Education + training</image:title>
<image:caption>Far too many youth in Kenya attend high school and then return to their villages where employment possibilities are limited almost entirely to subsistence farming or eking out a living by providing transport via motorbike. For many vulnerable girls, their only option after graduating from high school (or primary school) is to get married. We envision much more for under-resourced youth. What We Provide Pay tuition and fees and purchase uniforms and school supplies for students (with a focus on post-secondary students). Provide housing, food, transport, and other necessities. Do life together through activities like: attending church, hosting movie and pizza nights, leading weekly Bible study, and going on field trips.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Anaweza - pastor support + resources</image:title>
<image:caption>Working together with partners, we plan to make pastor training programs more accessible to rural pastors. This will help them become more effective teachers of their congregations and leaders in their communities. An estimated 85% of rural churches are led by pastors with no formal training; through partnerships with local pastor training efforts, we plan to help change that statistic.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Anaweza - Healthcare + Community support</image:title>
<image:caption>We have seen the needless suffering caused when at-risk populations are unable to access basic medical care. Consequences range from permanent disfigurement, to chronic pain, to death from easily preventable diseases. Anaweza addresses this problem head-on through our mobile medical outreaches. Our Role Provide accessible healthcare to vulnerable populations. Support existing healthcare structures (hospitals, clinics, and Community Health Volunteers). Provide health insurance to vulnerable patients requiring extended and ongoing medical care. Work with partners to provide free surgeries to underserved patients STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS We work closely with almost a dozen partners to provide medical services beyond our scope, to provide legal counsel and services to survivors of sexual- and gender-based violence, and to provide spiritual counseling and prayer. Our partners range from churches, to government healthcare initiatives, to non-governmental organizations.</image:caption>
