Our history…
Anaweza was birthed out of a vision to come alongside rural villagers in southwestern Kenya, to equip and empower them to experience fullness of life through increased educational opportunities and improved physical, spiritual and financial health. The Griggs family, founders of Anaweza, spent over a decade living and working at a children’s home, and with the medical community, in a rural village in southwestern Kenya. Anaweza is formed with the belief that the person and power of Jesus, as well as leadership, ideas, and ingenuity from the local community, are essential for lasting change. Anaweza comes alongside rural villagers in a robust approach—encompassing healthcare, education, and training—to creating more stable communities in one of Kenya’s most vulnerable regions.
Our Faith…
The Apostles’ Creed
We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of Heaven and Earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
The third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* Church,
the communion of the saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
