Munyao Kitonyi

Healthcare Committee Chair

Born and raised in Machakos Kenya, Munyao attended Starehe Boys Center and later Taylor University in IN where his athletics earned him All American Honors in track and cross-country. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in natural science, medical technology, certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists. He later attended Indiana University where he earned a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology. His work experience includes working as a medical technologist in microbial immunology and as a clinical microbiologist and later as the microbiology lab manager. He also has extensive work experience in clinical epidemiology and infection prevention in both practice and management.

Munyao has made contributions in community service as the founder and director of a substance abuse prevention program in Kathiani, Kenya and as the founding director of a welfare society that was involved in rehabilitating community members who lost loved ones to AIDS/HIV, also in Kathiani.
