Emma lives in Cleveland, Georgia with her husband and three sons (Bennett, Booker and Bowen) who she has been homeschooling for the past five years. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Emma decided to continue her education in children's literature and language arts at UGA. During that time, she discovered a passion for children's literature. She received a master’s degree and began teaching second and then fourth grade in Athens, Georgia. After teaching for several years, Emma and her husband moved back to Chestnut Mountain, GA where she worked at the middle school at Eagle Ranch, a wonderful ministry that provides homes and healing to children in crisis.

Emma loves being outdoors, especially sitting in the sun with a good book. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, and reading great books to her children. “I am thrilled and humbled to be a part of the Anaweza team and look forward to seeing the many ways God uses this ministry in the lives of the people in Kenya as well as in my own life.”
